The CARDINAL Theatricals team pulled off a grand production in just 2 weeks, uniting over 125+ singers, dancers, and performers from across Minnesota. Our collaboration with MEET MINNEAPOLIS, the convention & visitors organization, felt like a mini miracle in itself. The top secret plan featured my longtime producing collaborator and bestie, Grammy® Award-Winning JAMECIA BENNETT, stepping up to deliver a mash-up that left jaws on the floor. "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" collided with the classic MINNESOTA TWINS theme song, and let's just say, it was a collision that rocked the state. We didn't expect it to go viral, but hey, who's complaining?

The real show was the story we wove within the song itself. We created a ridiculous West Side Story-esque rivalry between the old and new school, symbolizing the transition to the new stadium (and trust me, we had a ball with a mini dance-off baseball game that had everyone in stitches). The true heartwarming moment came when this courageous kid stepped up to the plate and smashed a homerun with the confidence of a pro. The whole community rallied behind him, donning their makeshift capes (well, more like tee shirts) to support the young champ and embrace the bright future together.

“Oh yah fer sure!” the mashup struck a chord with Minnesotans, all right. The Twins theme song is etched in our very souls, and this fusion of melodies touched a nostalgic nerve in every heart. To think, news stations all over the country caught wind of our creation, and even after a good decade or so, I still get calls about it. It's humbling to know that something we put together could touch so many hearts.
