Since 2010, CARDINAL THEATRICALS has been proud to partner with singer, producer, and entrepreneur JAMECIA BENNETT.

Currently, This 3 time Grammy® Award-Winner lives in Minneapolis. When she is not gigging with her R&B "Maxx Band", she carries the torch of being new lead vocalist of the original Grammy® Award-winning Sounds Of Blackness.  Writer and producer of the new hit single “Fly Again” off their recent self titled album The Sounds of Blackness. After touring the world, Jamecia received a solo contract from Mercury Records that resulted in her writing and performing songs on movie soundtracks such as Jasons Lyric (platinum sound track album song: Rodeo Style), Kazaam (performed song: The Best of Me), the film Posse which she performed song: Women United), and also Love Jones The Musical soundtrack (performed a duet with Raheem Davoughn song: Need To Know).

In 2012, Ms. Bennett along with the Sounds of Blackness won a NAACP Image Award and the same week received the Grammy win for the artist she produced and wrote on the project Grammy Award winning Gospel Artist Leandria Johnson. Jamecia hit the Billboard charts at #8 as a featured lead soloist with Dove and Stellar nominees James Grear and Company with a CD entitled Don’t Give UP. She also completed an album that was released in London and Germany. 

Jamecia is also known on the off Broadway play circuit for her performances - for 10 yrs with the great Tyler Perry’s stage shows ( I Know I’ve Been Changed, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and Madea’s Family Reunion ) and author Micheal Baisdons stage show ( Men Cry In The Dark ). In Minneapolis, Jamecia has directed and performed at the legendary Guthrie Theatre and is a member of Penumbra Theatre, where she performed in great shows such as Black Nativity, Get Ready, Detroit 67, The Dutch Man & The Owl Answers. She headlined a 3 month run of Blues In The Night, and will be appearing as Maggie in the Ordway’s production of 42nd Street. Jamecia graced the renowned Guthrie Theater stage once again acting in the Tony Award-Winning Caroline or Change, and soon joined the cast of CARDINAL THEATRICALS productions of RENT and The Rocky Horror Show at the Lab Theater, Lonely Soldier Women at War in Iraq ( History Theatre ), Passing Strange ( MixedBlood Theatre ), and Sofia in The Color Purple ( Park Square Theatre ).
